I absolutely loved this place the owners served me with dignity and respect offered me a comfortable environment, simple but widespread menu, hot food, a cold drink, for a fair price I'm posting this to say thank you and you will always get my business when I'm around.

The thing I love about Ming's the most is that they make the same BBQ pork fried rice and honey pecan chicken that the old classic Wah Lee's restaurant used to make in Yreka before they closed down. I love their pork fried rice, honey pecan chicken, Chinese chicken salad, hot & sour soup, and BBQ pork & snow peas. Also excellent lo mein!

I simply could not get past the front door. The place just looks so tired and unkempt. Paint your sign and touch up the peeling red paint. It's so uninviting that I was too reluctant to try their food again. Last there six years ago, and, I'm local. But thought it was time to try again. Spend a day making it look like you care and I'll try again. I am wondering if the inside looks as worn out as the outside.

First they made us pay before we got our food. We ordered a Chinese chicken salad, sweet and sour prawns, and pork fried rice. The prawns had a horrible soapy taste to them. When asked how everything was we stated the prawns tasted bad. She proceeded to get nasty with us saying that the cooks are clean. I then took a bite of the pepper that came with it and found it tasted a bit moldy. But at the same time I found a long hair on the plate. The gentleman working proceeded to hold the hair over our table talking about how the cooks have short hair (so do I and my bf has none). The First Lady then walked up trying to say I brought it in with me. I was just done eating, especially since that long hair kept being waved above our table while we were still trying to enjoy the salad and the fried rice. If they had tried customer service and acted concerned we may have felt the $37 for bad prawns and a ruined meal with hair was okay. But for now we won't be stopping there ever again.

I stopped in Yreka on a saturday drive from Stockton, CA to Seattle, decided to stay at Econolodge and have dinner at Ming's. At 8:30 PM the buffet option was somewhat depleated (they close at 9:30) but it was sufficient for me. The entrees were hot and delicious. Ming himself waited on me....what and interesting and attentive guy! We talked about the difficulties of sourcing Asian food from Yreka...he said, when he was younger, he used to drive to San Francisco every weekend to buy the groceries he needed for a week (6 hours each way). And all the time we're talking, he's making sure my drink glass is full, and offering more food. I have to say, I was really appreciative of the service, and the conversation... I'll stop there again, next time! throug
